徐红明吸取传统绘画的透视方法,他用“散点透视”绘制抽象画,并把“散点”焦距的抽象画接合成整圆,以示其焦距的无限发展和无终止的意义。
徐红明“抽象”绘画的出发点是反现代主义的。他试图将东方的哲学和美学转化为艺术的尝试。他的绘画并不试图表现可视性的完整,而是表现一种无限性的精神完整。因此,他合乎逻辑地将中国传统绘画中的散点透视作为表现这种时空无限性和超越性的美学手段。徐红明说:“中国多视点地、流动地认识事物,形成超越时空的世界观、宇宙观和美学观,给予我抽象艺术思维源泉……欧美艺术家的抽象是建立在固定视点观察之上,是对可知世界的逐步分解。如米罗、蒙德里安和至上主义的代表马列维奇等人的艺术……中国抽象艺术是对可感知与不可感知世界的流动的、反复的整体观念的表达。没有具体超越的对象世界,只有伴随着人们对世界认知过程的精神调和。”所以,在他的抽象画中,他要表现的不是一种整体性和完整性,相反,是发展性和不完整性。他试图赋予每一个抽象的局部以不确定的移动感,从而形成多视点的“抽象”形式。徐红明每幅画的画面都是流动的局部,而非一个完整世界的抽象画总结。因为现实世界总是在发展,没有开始,也没有终结。

Xu HongMing creates works that combine his abstract,multipoint perspective paintings into a circle,indicating the limitless development and endless meaning of the focus.The source of XuHongMing’s abstract painting is also antimodernist,as he attempts to transfer Eastern philosophk and aesthetics into experimental art.His paintings are meant to express not visual completeness,but rather aspects of an unlimited spiritual realm.He has adopted the multipoint perspectival method of traditional Chinese painting as the aesthetic means to express such infinity and transcendence in both time and space.
Xu argues that the Chinese idea of the flowing,multiple viewpoint perception of things has informed a view of the world,a view of the universe,and an aesthetic that transcends time and space;this has been an inspiration in my thinking about abstract art.Abstraction in the Euro-American tradition is based on observation from a fixed viewpoint and gradually disassembles the appreciable world,as in the art of Mir’o and Mondrian,or Malevich,who advocated Suprematism.chinese abstract art expresses aconstantly flowing and holistic concept of the appreciable world –and of the inappreciable,or intangible,world as well.In this view,there is no specific realm of objects to be transcended.There is only spiritual alignment that goes along with people’s process of perceiving the world.Xu’s abstract paintings represent not completeness and wholeness but rather development and incompleteness.He tries to give each abstract detail that uncertain sense of motion,thus achieving the multi-viewpiont abstract form.Each canvas contains floeing detail,but not a summary of a complete world in an abstract painting,for the real world is forever developing without beginning or end.
